Cookout & Canoes 2026: Explore & Xpress in the Out of Doors

As a part of Xpressions of Dartmouth 2026, join us for an afternoon of fun in the sun! Cookout & Canoes is a free summer event hosted at Tom Dent Cabin where you can paddle the river, enjoy delicious food, vibe to music, and connect with the campus community. We’ll have plenty of equipment available, with special guest Alleah Schweitzer from SWC to lead a mindfulness paddle, lawn games, EMT and safety info, and more!

Grab a bite with options from The Box and cool down with some refreshments, or hang out by the river with equipment courtesy of Ledyard Canoe Club and the Office of Pluralism & Leadership.
This is a perfect chance to soak up summer, meet new people, and enjoy the outdoors.

Need resources on river/water and sun safety as we kick off summer happenings on campus? We got you covered!

Hosted in collaboration with the Office of Pluralism & Leadership and campus/community partners including Ledyard Canoe Club, Student Wellness, 2028 Class Council and the First Generation Office. Free and open to all Dartmouth students, staff and faculty! Dartmouth EMS will also be present for any medical or safety needs.

Come solo, bring a friend, or paddle with a group, but just don’t miss it!
