Israeli geopolitical expert Avi Melamed and Egyptian political analyst Dalia Ziada are joining forces to educate and equip the students with the knowledge they need to understand the ongoing process of restructuring the geopolitical landscape of the Middle East. In this lecture, they will explore the domino effect started by the October 7 attack that eventually led to the weakening of Iran and the emergence of new power dynamics in the region. The two speakers will also analyze the implications of the geopolitical changes in the region on US foreign policy and vice versa.

Avi Melamed

Avi Melamed is a Geopolitical Middle East Expert, Intelligence Analyst, Former Israeli Intelligence Official and Senior Arab Affairs Advisor.

Avi is the Founder of Founder of Inside The Middle East Intelligence Perspectives [ITME, an apolitical, non-partisan educational non-profit institute.  

He is the author of three books on the region. His recent book is "Inside The Middle East | Entering a New Era."

Avi is also the author, producer, and host of “The Seam Line,” a five-part docuseries exploring the many layers of the conflict in and over Jerusalem.

His newest project, Inside The Middle East | The Primer, is an educational video designed to provide a Western audience with an understanding of the factors shaping the region, equipping diverse viewers with vital education through on-the-ground filming and authentic voices from the Arab and Muslim world often absent from Western discourse.

Avi is Fluent in Hebrew, Arabic, and English.

He is a frequent commentator on international media platforms such as ABC, Al-Arabiya, BBC, Bloomberg, CNN, FOX, NBC, Newsweek, Reuters, and Sky News. He is a permanent contributor to USA Today.

Dalia Ziada

Dalia Ziada is an award-winning Egyptian writer and political analyst specializing in geopolitics, governance, and regional security in the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean. She works with the Israel-based Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs (JCFA) as a Senior Fellow for Research and Diplomacy in North America, and with the US-based Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy as a research analyst on the threat of radical Islamism in the West. Dalia is also a public speaker, commenting on the origins and motives of conflicts in the Middle East. Since April 2024, Dalia has joined Hillel International's Teach-in program to educate students on American campuses on the motives and implications of the geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East. Previously, Dalia took leading positions at prominent think tanks and civil society organizations in the United States and the Middle East, where she advocated for Arab-Israel peace and democratization in Arab countries and fought tough political and cultural battles against radical Islamism and political Islamist groups. Dalia studied International Security at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University (in the US). She is the author of several internationally acclaimed books, in Arabic and English, on the political complications of the Middle East region.
